Aerial and Satellite solutions for new build properties.

If you’re reading this you may have already bought or in the process of buying a brand new home here in Cornwall.  There are many new build sites dotted around the county right now and hundreds of people who don’t know exactly what to expect when they move in.  The aim of this article is to give you an insight into what TV and communication equipment is provided by the builder and what you need to organise before you move in.

How’s the best way to get freeview in my new home?

Around 95% of new build homes do not come with any sort of Aerial installed to receive freeview, the builder will provide basic aerial points in most rooms but the cables from these will be terminated in the loft area.  Upon moving in you will need to have the appropriate Freeview aerial installed and the correct distribution equipment to ensure a perfect signal to each room.  It’s also very common for aerial points in new build properties to be wired incorrectly, part of the service we offer when doing an aerial installation is to do a full health check on all the components that have been installed by the builder.

If you move into your new property and find there are room which do not have TV points it isn’t the end of the world, we have installed hundreds of bedroom and kitchen TV points across Cornwall in new build properties. Most of the time this can be done without any visible cables with everything run within the stud walls.

Here’s a few more reasons why Digital Solutions should be your first choice for aerial installations in Cornwall;

  • Only the best quality equipment is used ensuring a perfect signal to every room.
  • We pride ourselves on being extremely careful and courteous whilst working within your new home.
  • Additional TV points can be added to your new home and if possible we aim to have no visible cables.
  • All equipment that we install has built in LTE filters meaning they are future proof against 4G interference.

How is the best way to have Sky or freesat fitted into my new home?

Unfortunately sky engineers are pushed very hard and have huge workloads on a daily basis, this means corners are often cut or equipment and cables are installed in the easiest location disregarding the aesthetics of the property.  Using a third party like Digital Solutions is a great option when moving into your new house in Cornwall, not only do we have the time to discuss your requirements we also like to take pride in our work.

A lot of new build properties in Cornwall are actually Pre-wired for sky, however sky rarely use these feeds and sockets and will surface mount cables on the exterior and interior of the property!  We will use all existing pre-installed feeds which usually means no surface mount cables at all on the property, not only that but we can also install additional satellite feeds at the same time and try our hardest to do this in a discreet way.

When moving home if you’re an existing Sky customer we can ensure you have your full sky package working on the day you move in, as long as you make sure you have your sky box with you we can get everything setup and working in one visit.  Often we are contacted by customers to carry out the sky, freesat and freeview installations prior to you moving in which cuts down on mess and more stress whilst moving home.

Here’s a few points why it’s better to choose Digital Solutions to install your sky in Cornwall;

  • Neat and tidy installations.
  • We use any pre-installed feeds provided by the builder.
  • Sky dish installation done exaclty how you want and not just the easiest option.
  • Dish can be installed prior to moving into your new home or on the day of moving.
  • Custom installs including corrosion resistant Fibreglass dishes for coastal areas.
  • Sky Q installation and setup in Cornwall.
